Wonderful Daria is always thinking of the three fluffy bundles of joy as they tumble about and happily explore their enclosure at the AMP Libearty Sanctuary. The mother bear can no longer use one of her front paws after it became caught in a poacher\u2019s trap in the forest.

Despite her severe disability, Daria never abandoned her cubs\u2014not even for a moment. From the day they were born, she risked her life and freedom to provide them with everything they needed.During the cubs\u2019 first few months, unable to find enough food for them, Daria began searching for something to eat in the gardens and farmyards of local residents in D\u0103rm\u0103ne\u0219ti, Bac\u0103u County. Frightened by the bear family\u2019s presence in their village, residents alerted the authorities, who captured Daria and brought her and her cubs to the AMP Libearty Sanctuary.

Her adjustment to life here is still ongoing and proving extremely difficult, as the mother bear is still struggling to accept the enclosure fences.

The family needs to live separately from the other bears in a specially designed enclosure. The WILD enclosures are designed for wild bears that can no longer be relocated to the forest and would be killed if we could not take them into the sanctuary. These enclosures require additional safety systems. Each acclimatisation area needs two electric fence circuits powered by separate power sources. <\/strong>

The nutritional needs of mother bears with cubs are also complex. Both the mother and her cubs need vitamins, fresh fruit and supplements.
