Important: Access to the sanctuary is permitted ONLY as part of the guided tours at the fixed times listed above. Self-guided visits are not available.

Ticket prices remain the same throughout the year. The only difference is between weekdays and weekends.

The “Libearty” Bear Sanctuary
is NOT a zoo!

The sanctuary’s mission is to rescue animals held captive in appalling conditions and provide them with proper care and
decent living conditions in a natural setting spanning 69 hectares of forests, streams, and pools.

How do we protect the bears?

  • Silence your phone
  • Stay with the group and follow the guide’s instructions
  • Listen patiently to the bears’ stories
  • Respect the peace and quiet of the forest and its animals
  • Show proof of the child’s age, if applicable.
  • Show your student ID to receive the discount, if applicable.

What Is Not Allowed

  • Children under the age of 5 are not permitted for safety reasons
  • Smoking (strictly forbidden)
  • Approaching the electric fence
  • Feeding the bears or other animals
  • Loud talking, shouting, and other loud noises
  • Flash photography
  • Consuming food inside the sanctuary
  • Leaving the group or the designated visitor trail

Do you have any questions before your visit?

What is the minimum age for children to visit?

Children under the age of 5 are not permitted for safety reasons. Please bring a document confirming your child’s age.

No, under no circumstances. The bears follow a specialized diet supervised by veterinarians. Feeding them may harm their health and disrupt their natural balance.

Yes, but without flash. A supplementary fee of 50 RON applies to personal photo and video cameras. Dedicated tours are available for professional photographers.

Tours take place even in bad weather, except in extreme weather conditions. We recommend wearing suitable clothing and footwear, including hiking shoes and waterproof clothing.

Organized groups, including schools and camps, must book in advance by calling +40 268 471 202 (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM).

The Classic Tour lasts approximately one hour, the Private Tour around 1 hour and 30 minutes, the VIP Tour around 2 hours, and the Super VIP Tour around 2 hours and 30 minutes.
