Help Us Heal Ina’s Trauma!
Ina – The Living Embodiment of Trauma
A narrow cage, a cold concrete floor that was almost always wet, a drain serving as a makeshift pool, and thick, closely spaced rusty bars that blocked even the sky… And she did not even have these entirely to herself.
For 20 years, this was Ina’s sentence. She shared her prison and humiliation with her sister, Anca, at Piatra-Neamț Zoo.
Ten years ago, Ina’s fate changed. With the support of the Environmental Guard, she was brought to the AMP Libearty Bear Sanctuary. Here, she has hectares of forest to roam, trees, grass, nutritious food and all the freedom she could wish for… Yet she is unable to enjoy any of it.
Ina is the living embodiment of trauma! The cramped cage, the rusty iron bars brushing against her with every step, and the pain of an undeserved imprisonment are still vivid in her mind. Ten years later, Ina remains trapped in the same cage she knew from an early age. No matter how much joy nature offers her, her spirit is still imprisoned there, behind those iron bars. Her body continues to move in small circles, just as it did for 20 years.
