A few days ago, we received a call that broke our hearts. A bear cub just a few months old had been found alone, without his mother, extremely weak, dehydrated and starving.

When he arrived in the care of the AMP Libearty team, his condition was critical. He weighed just four kilograms, although at his age he should have weighed at least twice as much. He was so weak that his hind legs trembled with every step, and no one knew whether he would survive.

But this little cub is a true fighter.

Day after day, he fought for every meal. For every steadier step. For one more day of life.

During his first week in the care of the AMP Libearty Sanctuary team, he gained more than one kilogram.

It may not seem like much, but for a bear cub on the brink of death, it means everything. It means strength. It means the chance of a future. It means that his fight is beginning to pay off.

However, his journey is far from over. The little cub still needs specialist food, round-the-clock care and close monitoring to make a full recovery.
