Chery is a former circus bear. She was in the property of the circus in Oradea, but since she was too small to perform (about 1 year) and too stubborn to be trained for shows, the circus director contacted AMP to take over the bear cub.
Chery arrived at the Reservation June 2008. Being too thin, she spent few months in quarantine before gaining weight.
She was released in AMP sanctuary forest in the fall of the same year, and since then her favorite activities are climbing trees and taking long baths, with or without the company of other bears.
In 2017, Chery gave birth to 3 cubs- Marc, Di & Rachel. The little ones were born by accident. More about this story you can find out when you visit the Sanctuary!
