Elaine was only four months old when she arrived at the sanctuary with her mother Alpina and brother David. The authorities in Brașov asked us to take over the bear family because of the dangers they were exposed to and for the protection of the people in the area. The mother bear and her two cubs were increasingly entering the hotel area of Poiana Brașov and were at risk of being hit by cars at any moment.
Elaine has a more rebellious nature, loves to climb trees and plays with her brother all day long under the watchful eyes of their mother.
