123 bears have a new life in the AMP Libearty Sanctuary! Most of them come from captivity where they lived in terrible conditions – miserable cages, circuses where the trainers’ whip has mistreated and pushed their bodies over the limit, narrow and dark spaces, cold and wet floors, left to starve or stuffed with junk food and beer for the tourists’ amusement. The Sanctuary also provides shelter for the orphan cubs that couldn’t survive on their own in the forest.
In order to take care of the animals in AMP Libearty Sanctuary we need over 2000 euro per day. The 123 bears in the Sanctuary eat daily over 2 tones of food. The food, the medical treatments, the vitamins and supplements that help the little ones grow strong and offer comfort and pain relief to the old bears are basic components that we need on a daily basis, no matter the conditions.

With your donation, we feed the bears, we offer them the necessary medication, we take care of the forest, maintain the facilities – like pools, fences, access roads but we also keep rescuing other captive bears!
The AMP Libearty Sanctuary is a 100% private initiative (founded by Cristina and Roger Lapis – The Millions of Friends Association) and does not benefit from funding, subventions or any financial help from the Romanian state institutions.
