Sofia reached Libearty in October 2006 when she was 7 months old. Both she and her sister Gina were confiscated from a private zoo near a restaurant in Bancu, Miercurea Ciuc. The little bear was baptised by the famous actor Piere Brice known for his play in Winnetou. The actor chose the name after his good friend, another famous actress Sofia Lauren.

Adopt Sofia with a minimum donation of 5 euros / month (60 euros / year). With this contribution, we can ensure that the adopted bear has a honey jar every month. When you finish the donation for a year, we will send you an adoption certificate.

We appreciate if you can support a greater part of the need for the bear’s care. If you represent a company, you can adopt a bear exclusively with a donation of 600 euro / month. The company's logo, accompanied by the name of the adopted bear, will be placed in the sanctuary. Over 30,000 visitors will see that the company you represent is involved in animal welfare.
