Project Description
In the summer of 2018, Emil, then Soni, had become a real tourist attraction at St. Ana Lake. Tourists from all over the world came to see him and unfortunately took selfies with him and even fed him.
He allegedly attacked a tourist who tried to take a picture with him, so his fate was in the hands of the authorities. Fortunately they decided that the bear cub would end up in the AMP Libearty sanctuary and not be killed. When we arrived at St. Ana Ana pick him up, the young bear was being harassed by dozens of tourists who were trying to take pictures of him. Only the intervention of the gendarmes caused them to leave the area, dissatisfied.
He arrived safely in the sanctuary forest and has been living peacefully with his peers, ever since.
