Project Description

A feeble but desperate cry was heard at the end of May by people hiking in the Berii Valley-Cheia massif. The tourists are the ones who found Alexander, the little bear cub who was fighting for his life alone, and they immediately notified the authorities.

He was handed over to the AMP Libearty sanctuary team, malnourished, dehydrated, full of larvae, hypothermic. A lung infection required thorough treatment, and the little one was syringe-fed, then bottle-fed, and given infusions of vital drugs and vitamins.

Two months have passed since then and the little one is now in the special enclosure at the AMP Libearty sanctuary. Due to the long convalescence Alexander, the little one with velvet fur, will not be able to be rehabilitated, but he will be safe in the sanctuary of AMP Libearty for the rest of his life.
