Greteal reached Libearty alongside her brother Hansel in August 2006 after being confiscated from the Zoological Garden Călărași. They were prisoners there for 2 years. Very thin, malnourished, both needed long term medical surveillance and a proper diet. Now Gretel is a beautiful bear, a very happy one who overcame the captivity traumas.

Adopt Gretel with a minimum donation of 5 euros / month (60 euros / year). With this contribution, we can ensure that the adopted bear has a honey jar every month. When you finish the donation for a year, we will send you an adoption certificate.

We appreciate if you can support a greater part of the need for the bear’s care. If you represent a company, you can adopt a bear exclusively with a donation of 600 euro / month. The company's logo, accompanied by the name of the adopted bear, will be placed in the sanctuary. Over 30,000 visitors will see that the company you represent is involved in animal welfare.
