Project Description

When discovered, in a private Zoo in Gyumri, Armenia, Grisha weighed 50 kilograms, a quarter of the normal weight of a 5-year-old bear. The place had been abandoned and the animals there were left to starve. The only survivors were two bears and three lei.

The two bears, extremely weak and in poor health, needed a six-month period of quarantine at the Yerevan Zoo. On April 1, 2016, Grisha arrived at AMP Libearty after a long plane flight. He was extremely shy and liked to spend time in the trees.

Grisha needed two and a half years to make friends, seat and eat with other bears. Now he is often seen playing and running around the pool, relaxing and  listen to the bird song.
