In October 2016, during a trip to Romania, Richard and Sara had the pleasure of visiting the Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti.

Marcelino is a young horse saved from slaughtering by AMP, after a representative of The Brigitte Bardot Foundation convinced his owner to accept this. He is only six years old and could have had a cruel fate, after he was hit by a car.

The Libearty sanctuary is open on January 24th, when Romanians celebrate the union of the two “Danubian Principalities” of Wallachia and Moldavia, which is an official holiday.

The forest road to the Libearty sanctuary was blocked by the huge amounts of snow. But the bears fully enjoyed the weather and became models for a photo shooting session.
