At the edge of a forest in Dâmbovița, near the national road linking Sinaia and Targoviste, a dog was impatiently waiting. Her look followed each car that passed her by and her eyes begged for the right car to stop. Same as Hatchi, professor Parker Wilson’s dog from “Hachiko: A dog’s tale”, Ally was waiting for her owner. Her “train station” was an improvised shelter. The time has passed and so did the cars but the master never showed up. Nobody knows what happened to the person who should have cared for her. Did he die like in the movie, or did he abandon his dog, which is common in Romania?
After two weeks of waiting, the dog drew the attention of passers. A man has brought her food every day, but he couldn’t touch her or pet her. Moved with compassion, a young woman called the Red Panda Association in Bucharest. In the spirit of good relations, the representatives of this Association called for AMP help to take over the dog.
AMP rescuers carried Ally in the arms to the car and finally the dog safely reached the Victory shelter. ‘”She’s a large dog and she’s three years old. She was weak, dehydrated and hungry. We’ll ensure her a diet rich in proteins and vitamins”, said the manager of the Victory shelter, Oana David.
