Her concern for dogs fixed her fence

She helped stray dogs and came to be helped in turn. A seventy-six-year-old woman from Brasov, who takes care of eight dogs she picked up off the streets, received a new fence from AMP after a car driven by a reckless driver went straight through her yard. She loves dogs and she doesn’t hesitate to take them in and offer them shelter in her yard. Whether they’re missing eyes or legs, Domnica Jighira helps the most oppressed ones without asking anything in return. Not long ago, a car driven by an irresponsible driver went through her yard, damaging the fence and her kitchen. Her heart sank when she saw the fence fallen to the ground. She could have been in the summer kitchen where she prepares food for the dogs— the kitchen where the car got stuck after shattering the fence.

How did we manage to help her?
Domnica Jighira was almost hopeless when she came to us. The speeder who destroyed the fence and the kitchen wasn’t interested in repairing the damage he’d caused. The eight dogs she’s caring for could ran away any minute from the yard, and her kitchen was destroyed. She didn’t know how we could help her, but she was hoping for a miracle. We all mobilized: Some donated a few windows and a stove, while others helped to rebuild the fence. The money for materials was donated by AMP presidents Cristina and Roger Lapis. In two days, the fence problem was solved, so the woman’s four-legged friends no longer risked leaving the yard and getting hit by a car, or getting lost again on the streets. ”Dogs also have their God. For them and because of them I have met such great people,” Domnica told us. The kitchen where she prepares the dog food still needs to be repaired — the cold season is rapidly approaching, and it’s difficult for the septuagenarian to cook almost daily on the stove now installed outside.
