After 10 years of torment, Max was finally released in 2006. The chains that kept him captive next to an iron fence in the tourist resort of Sinaia, were broken. People were making pictures with him, but he could not see them as he was blinded since it was just a little bear-cub. With all our efforts, care and the almost permanent medical care, Max is not feeling very well.
Because of the position he was kept in and because he had to stand on cement during the 10 years of captivity, poor Max is now suffering of severe arthrosis and possible spine problems.
Help us take care of him and the other bears at Libearty!
