Max, one of the most beloved bears at Libearty, is passing through a very painful period. The 10 years spent on the cold concrete near the Peleș Castle, without the right to walk or move at his own will, are showing their marks on his actual health. Max is suffering of arthrosis, has big issues with his back legs and the doctors suspect these will lead to paralisys.
As winter is around the corner, Max was moved in the quarantine area where he has a warm bed of hay. Here, he does not need to move too much and, whenever he whishes, he can step in the outer encloser to be in the forest he has been loving so much in the last 12 years. He receives treatment with pain killers and anti-inflamatory pills. We really hope that a miracle will happen!
Most probably, Max will spend the whole winter in the quarantine area, to stay away form cold. If you love Max, pray with us that he will react at the treatment and get better.
Unfortunately, the hardest thing for us is to let the time decide, because medicaly and humanly there is nothing more to do!
