An October visitor to the sanctuary posted some lovely words about us on tripadvisor.com. “I think the people who make the sanctuary a home for the bears should be commended. The guide that we had was very helpful and knowledgeable in telling us about the plight of some of the bears and how they integrate the bears back into nature. Furthermore, the sanctuary is for non-profit and the money goes to the upkeep of bears (with the veterinary centre in the heart of the sanctuary) and good food for the bears. When I visited, the bears were being fed in the morning a delicious array of apples and other fruits. The bears looked happy and seemed to know when feeding time was.
The sanctuary is beautiful. I visited in the fall time and the leaves were falling in reds, golds. and browns with the bears’ fur changing from blonde to dark brown. The bears look extremely healthy, with thick, shiny fur and a healthy heavy weight. The bears seem relaxed and happy to be in their natural surroundings. The sanctuary is also home to a pack of really friendly, chubby, cute stray dogs who seem to guard the property but at the same time, welcome guests. It was such a great day 🙂 Truly enjoyed it and worth the trip from Zarnesti town.”
