Anima, the female bear abandoned on the edge of the National Road 1, after she was hit by a car, went through a surgery, last weekend.
The German veterinarian, who was born in Romania, Fritz Harman, accepted to perform the surgery for this unfortunate girl, together with the associate veterinarian of the Association, dr. Ciprian Cocianu.
The surgery lastef about six hours, during which the broken femur was brought together with 10 bolts, so that the leg can be saved. Anima went well over the surgery, but she will have a difficult recovery time, which will last at least six weeks.
After the procedure, dr. Fritz Hartman said he was very confident that nothing wrong can happen to Anima.
She was saved by the Millions of Friends’ Association, after the authorities asked for our support in this case. She went through anaesthesia three times in the last weeks: when she was transported in the sanctuary, for the X-ray examination and for the surgery.
Now, she needs treatment and care in order to recover.
