For middle-aged Romanians, “Cutezătorii” (The Daring) represents a piece of their childhood, along with the Pioneer tie. For young people… the stack of magazines found in their grandparent’s attic. Now, the teens of the XXI century can enjoy, as their parents did, the longest-running children’s magazine – Cutezătorii. The “Cutezătorii “ team, has also honored us with their visit to the Sanctuary in Zarnesti on a beautiful April day. Excited and anxious, the team members were astonished at the sight of the bears from the Sanctuary which are finally living a free life, in their natural environment, far away from rusty cages and the conditions they were forced to live in by some people who hardly deserve to be called such.
The tour of the Sanctuary was followed by the presentation movie and a few minutes of reading. Although they already knew the sad story of Maya, of which they have already written in „Cutezătorii” (The Daring) and „Luminița”(The Light) magazines, the emotions were too strong to be mastered. Neither the notes with the messages of the children who have visited the Sanctuary so far have not spared the girls of emotions. Children are the first to perceive the suffering of animals and they demand through these notes the liberation of the bear, “the king” of our Carpathian forests.
The collaboration with the “Cutezătorii” magazine has continued with an invitation to the National ECO FUN Contest Awards, held on 25 May. After reading the story in this magazine, during the Gala, the winners could learn about the human-bear interaction and the cruel customs of entertainment the bear is being trained to participate, in various countries around the world.
