For the first time in their lives, the bears from Gyumri will have the chance to touch the grass with their paws, climb a tree and feel and smell of the forest and refresh themselves in the pool from the Libearty sanctuary.
The bears from Armenia spent their first two days in quarantine rooms. Known to the public as Misha and Masha, the bears arrived at the Libearty sanctuary with documents where they were registered as Masha and Grisha. This is a good thing for the Millions of Friends Association, as in the sanctuary we already have a bear named Misha.
Masha was already set free into the training area, while the male bear, Grisha, was castrated by our veterinarian and will be set free today.
Masha was wellcomed with bread and honey by Cristina Lapis (the president for AMP):
For Grisha it was a difficult decision to enter the quarantine room:
The bears will be set free in the quarantine area, where they will enjoy the nature for the first time in their lives. We will present you the moment, tomorrow!
