The “Millions of Friends” Animal Protection Association from Brașov encountered the Winter Holidays with a new event dedicated to the children – „The Christmas of Animals”. The activity has been accomplished with the support of organizations and foundations like „Brigitte Bardot”, „Love Underdogs” and WSPA and it has been held in the week-end after Saint Nicholas. The partner of this event, Carrefour Brașov, has provided the necessary space for an educational workshop. Dressed as dog and bear, the AMP team brought clay, origami paper, crayons and markers and the kids appeared immediately. While the parents did their shopping, over 50 kids have learned to shape bears and cats from clay and have been helped to paint „The Christmas of Animals”.
The aim of this event is the awareness and education of children in order to care and protect the wild and domestic animals. „Christmas is the holiday of children and joy, but most of the humanitarian gestures are concerning the mankind. This way we are trying to show the citizens of Brasov that in a harmonious society not only the humans need to be happy but the animals as well.”, said Cristina Lapis, the president of AMP Brașov. The costumes were provided by Opera Braşov.
The donations will be used for the bears from the „Libearty” Bear Sanctuary Zărnești and for the dogs from the Dog Shelter Triaj.
