The Libearty info center opens to visitors

Eight months after construction started, the visitor’s center has opened. The first visitors have officially crossed the threshold, relaxed on the comfortable sofas, and watched Libearty – Saving the Captive Bears, a documentary about the sanctuary. Vending machines provide snacks and cold drinks for the hot summer months, as well as eight kinds of coffee drinks. Proceeds from both go to feeding and caring for the bears.
The info center is the starting point for meeting the Libearty bears. From here, visitors can pick up brochures about AMP’s activities and get acquainted with the guides who will lead them through the sanctuary. After the tour and a ride on the Train of Freedom, visitors can return to the info center, where they can buy souvenirs. Proceeds from these sales also go to support the sanctuary’s 75 inhabitants.
The info center cost 55,000€, which was donated by the German animal protection organization Welttierschutzgesellschaft e.V. The interior was designed by Alter-Domus, who generously donated their services.

AMP would like to thank to all the sponsors who made this project possible!
