The newest inhabitants of the Libearty sanctuary came from Reșița Zoo, in the west of Romania

One 16 year old male bear and a 13 year old female bear are the newest inhabitants of the Libearty sanctuary. They used to share cages with Terra and Pluto, a mother bear and her cub, who were brought to the sanctuary in 2014 from the Reșița Zoo after a three year effort of the Millions of Friends Association team.

Marinel (16) and Mogli (13) are now in the sanctuary quarantine area and will rest there until our specialists decide when they will be able to join the other bears. Marinel and Mogli do not have to live in cages or on a concrete floor anymore.  Now they can enjoy the fresh air, the smell of flowers and the sounds of nature. We hope that, soon, their behavior of captive bears will change and they will start to dig in the earth, climb the trees and run freely in the sanctuary.

Involve in their recovery!
