“I congratulate you for guiding the citizens of Brasov to help the wild animals”
Pavel Costea (55 years old) is one of the about 50 participants to the “Rescue Martinică” contest, conducted by the “Millions of Friends” Association in September. Mechanical Engineer by profession, Costrea is a corporate administrator and when he saw the news on TV he started looking for Martinică’s hive. “I’m an animal lover since all my life. I have also a cat, but I love all kind of animals generally. When I saw the news on TV on one of the local posts, I said: I have to go and help Martinică. So I started looking for the hypermarket in question and when I arrived to Real, I saw this urn” says the man. This is not the first time when Pavel Costea participates to charity. “When I was little, my brother and I used to donate our sandwiches to the animals.”
Monday, 1st of October, Costea was present to rescue Martinică. It wasn’t easy, because neither rescuing a live bear is not an easy mission. He had to search for the 2 keys which are opening the locks of Martinică’s chains, in a string with 20 keys. He succeeded eventually in releasing Martinică and took him home. He also received 4 entrance tickets to the “Libearty” Bear Sanctuary in Zărneşti.”I congratulate you for your campaign! I congratulate you for guiding the citizens of Brasov to help the wild animals. For now, people from Romania do not have the necessary education for helping the wild animals, but by time this attitude will change”, encourages us the winner of this month.
The „Millions of Friends” Association continues this fundraising campaign to help financing the rescue missions of the captive bears in Romania. A new teddy bear has been placed on the hive from the Real-Hypermarket and is waiting now to be rescued by the citizens of Brasov. All you need to do is to go the Real-Hypermarket from the Bartolomeu neighborhood and donate a sum of money using the available re-sealable bags. Do not forget to put down you name, e-mail address and phone number so that we can contact you.
The winners of September are being waited to pick up their awards.
As there were 4 persons donating the same sum of money, the representatives of the Association chose the winner by lot. Alex Costin, Anca Rentea Diaconu and Ioan Mihnea Olteanu won each, 2 entrance tickets to the „Libearty” Bear Sanctuary, amounting to 150 lei. They are being waited to pick up their awards from the Association’s Office on, Str. Rovine nr. 5, from Monday to Friday, between 9AM-4PM.
