The case of the bear from the wisent reserve in Vânători (Neamt county) came into our attention more than 10 years ago. With the help of Welttierschutzgesellschaft (WTG) that supported the medical expenses and the transportation for Bobita, he has the chance to begin a new life, under the name of King. After the AMP team left from Brașov in the middle of the night, the veterinary ambulance went in Neamt at dawn. Our veterinarian collaborator tranquillized, microchipped and also neutered him in the area where he had been living, in order to avoid a second tranquillization.
The 350 kg bear was then taken into the special ambulance and began his journey to Libearty. A few hours later, the bear reched the Libearty sanctuary where he will begin a new life, doing whatever he likes to in the forest that he missed since he was a baby. Until he recovers after the neutering, he stays in a quarrantine room and receives painkillers. He only has to spend a few more days in the training area.
