Anca, a 24 year old female bear, left the zoo cage from Piatra Neamt, to come to Libearty. Thus, she will find the freedom close to her sister – Ina, who had the chance to come here in 2014.
Now, she needs all the capabilities and care of the AMP representatives, in order to discover and enjoy the wonders of nature. The decision of the authorities to transfer her in a sanctuary came after our association sent more requests in this respect an the community in the area gathered and asked in an online petition to have her transfered in the Libearty sanctuary.
For 20 years, Anca and Ina shared one swimming pool, one shelter and one walking space. So, each of them lived only half of their lives. Their pen had only one pool, one den and one "walking" area. The only solution of the administration was from chess – a weekly castling between the two female bears. After years of complaints, the Association Millions of Friends persuaded the authorities to do justice. With the support of the National Environmental Guard, the local government agreed to give up on Ina. In October 2014, AMP managed to bring her to the sanctuary in Zarnesti. Now she has trees, a pool and den, all just for her.
Now, after four more years, Anca will have the chance to enjoy nature, close to her sister.
