Boni is one of the lucky dogs who found a family shortly after being rescued from the streets, when she had barely opened her eyes. “It was love at first sight,” says the family who offered this gorgeous dog a home.
The neighbors demolished the dog’s cage
“I was taking care of a dog on the block where I live. Last winter I built her a cage and put some straw inside, but when summer came, my neighbors demolished it because it smelled,” says Oana Șuba. A few months after the cage disappeared, so did the dog. The Șuba family started looking for her at dog shelters. They worried, especially because the euthanasia law was in effect—they were terrified that she might meet that cruel fate.
„We couldn’t find her, but we never were the same after we saw all those dogs at the shelter. From that moment on, we went as often as we could to the shelter to help walk the dogs. The entire family went, including my daughter, who’s in the eighth grade now. I also mobilized my friends, asking for any kind of help. This is how we met Boni, who we all fell in love with,” says Oana. It wasn’t long until the Șubas took her home, right on their daughter’s birthday. Now Boni completes the Șuba family, along with a cat and two parrots.
