Zeus is one of the lucky dogs who found a family after living on the streets for about 4 years. The Butnaru family had never had a dog before, they didn’t know the meaning of raising and caring for a dog and neither did they know how much affection they could receive from him. ”We moved to the house a year ago and somehow it was clear that in our backyard, and especially our lives, a dog would find a home”, says Simona Butnaru. The adoption came as something natural. They never considered the size of their new friend, but it was absolutely essential that he would get along well with the little ones: Tudor, 3 and a half years old and Thea, his little sister, of only 8 months. They all came to the shelter where they met Zeus.
”As soon as we saw him, we knew we had to look no further. Tudor, our little boy, loved him at first sight and the first thing he said about Zeus was: ”He’s my friend!”. Thea, being younger, was waving her hands with joy every time she saw him. We began to visit twice a week, to take him food and take him out for a walk”, said Zeus’ new owner. After a month of visiting the shelter, Zeus went to his new home, and began a period of adaptation. After a short time, barely two weeks, he integrated perfectly into the family.
”He’s now a member of our family”
Zeus is now a happy dog. He has a big yard for running around, he goes walking in the neighbourhood and plays all day long with Tudor, now the ”big boy” of the family.
”He walked on a leash very well from the beginning, which led us to think that he had had a previous owner. He’s very gentle and at the same time very playful. I can say that the little ones now have a playmate they are very proud of and the first thing they do when going out in the yard, is calling out his name. He would never do anything to upset us. He’s a gorgeous dog and we could never let him go!” says Simona.
Being brushed is Zeus’ greatest pleasure, and it’s also Tudor’s, who would do it every day. Each time after a brushing session, Zeus turns somersaults and with his eyes he thanks the people who welcomed him into their family. ”Our dog is unbelievable!” says Simona, ending the story of their newest family member.
